Vintage pink aurora & pink rhinestone brooch, circa 1960's. Mixed pink and pink aurora borealis glass rhinestones in round and baguette shapes form a lovely, sparkling butterfly, measuring 1.75" x 1.75". Textured gold-tone antennae frame the top. A beautiful piece! Aurora borealis is the term for an incandencent rhinestone finish developed by Swarovski in 1955. Original vintage auroa stones are made of glass or crystal. Later examples of the stones have been produced in plastic.
