Celtic Book of Kells Broach
Celtic Book of Kells vintage brooch in brilliant blue and gold tone. This pin measures 2 1/4 inches across and depicts a portion of an intricate illustration from the Book of Kells, the oldest manuscript known to exist. The book is an illuminated (hand illustrated with vibrant colors) copy of the first four Christian gospels plus additional works, a masterpiece created by Celtic monks more than 1200 years ago and is considered Ireland’s finest treasure.
This brooch is a lovely representation of Celtic art, circa 1970s-80s. Minor wear, a lovely piece!
